GTA 6 on PC: release date, system requirements and everything we know
GTA 6 launches on November 19, 2026, but not on PC. Here is what is official, what is rumor, and what Rockstar's history suggests.
At a glance (October 19, 2026)
- Official Release on November 19, 2026 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S only.
- Not announced No official PC version, no date, no system requirements.
- Rumor PC version in Q1 2027, according to four anonymous sources cited by GamesBeat.
Why GTA 6 is not on PC at launch
Rockstar has released its big games on console first since GTA IV. The studio has never spelled out why. The usual explanations are the priority given to the console market, the time needed to support the variety of PC hardware, and fighting piracy at launch.
PC release date: what the track record says
| Game | Console release | PC release | Gap |
|---|---|---|---|
| GTA IV | April 2008 | December 2008 | ~7 months |
| GTA V | September 2013 | April 2015 | ~19 months |
| Red Dead Redemption 2 | October 2018 | November 2019 | ~13 months |
| GTA 6 | November 19, 2026 | ? | Rumor: 2 to 5 months |
Q1 2027 would be an unusually short gap for Rockstar. Our read: the report is credible (four consistent sources), but late 2027 would fit the studio's history better. We will update this page as soon as there is an announcement.
PC system requirements
Rockstar has not published minimum or recommended specs. The "requirements" circulating on YouTube and TikTok are estimates, often presented as official. What we can reasonably expect:
- Technical analyses of the trailers point to 30 fps on PS5, and consider even 60 fps unlikely on PS5 Pro. Beating console performance on PC will take a strong rig.
- An SSD will almost certainly be required, as with most recent games built for PS5 and Xbox Series.
- Rockstar acquired the Cfx.re team (FiveM, the GTA V roleplay servers) in 2023, so mods and online roleplay will likely matter a lot on PC.
We will publish the official requirements, with a tool to check your PC, as soon as Rockstar announces them.
